Research
Kirsten earned her MSW from the University of Southern California with the military concentration. Her internship at zero8hundred, a military transition support agency located in San Diego, California, allowed her to work individually with active duty service members. She assisted those who were in the process of transitioning out of the military. She was also able to take part in a specialized program assisting individuals transitioning out of the military brig. Her personal experience and education, with military culture, informs her research today.
Kirsten is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Alabama. She also serves as the Project Director for the Birmingham Veterans Needs Assessment.
